The head of the Investment Authority, Haider Makiya, confirmed today, Wednesday, that Iraq aspires to develop its relations with Qatar in the investment aspects.
Makiya said in a statement to Qatari TV, "Iraq is looking forward to broad cooperation horizons with Qatari investment companies and capital to enter the line of major strategic and vital projects sponsored by the Iraqi government in announcing the establishment of new cities in many provinces."
Makiya added, in a statement to Qatari television, that "Qatar is one of the countries that support the growth of the Iraqi economy economically and commercially, and Baghdad aspires to develop its relations with Doha in the investment aspects."
He added, "The visit of the Emir of Qatar will certainly have a great impact on encouraging Qatari companies to embark on joint investment paths in its various sectors."
