, the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Iraq, Maurizio Cricanti, confirmed today, Tuesday, that there is great cooperation with the Iraqi government in the field of water and its management.
Kricanti told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Italian government funded the rehabilitation of the Mosul Dam and made a great achievement in relation to this dam, as the Italian Trevi company carried out this work," noting that "we have funded this project in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). UNIDO, as we have strengthened the safety of dams in Iraq.
He added, "The Italian government also helped establish the National Dam Safety Department in the Ministry of Water Resources," stressing that "this cooperation is great and fruitful with the Iraqi government, Minister of Water Resources, Awn Dhiab, and the ministry in general to work in the field of water and its management."[/size]
