    [size=45]The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, discussed with the US Undersecretary of State for Civil Security, Democracy and Human Rights, Ezra Zia, bilateral relations between the United States and the region, while Blinken’s representative confirmed that Erbil is a strategic ally of Washington in a 360-degree relationship in Iraq and the region.[/size]

    On Thursday, May 9, 2024, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received the US Under Secretary of State for Civil Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, Ezra Zia.[/size]
    [size=45]During the meeting, which was attended by the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, protect human rights and components, consolidate a culture of peaceful coexistence and religious freedom, and normalize the situation in Sinjar.[/size]
    [size=45]The US Undersecretary of State expressed her happiness at visiting the region, and stressed that the Kurdistan Region is a strategic ally and partner of the United States within the framework of a 360-degree partnership in Iraq and the region.[/size]
    [size=45]The two sides agreed to continue coordination and cooperation to promote the common values ​​of democracy, the protection of human rights, freedom of expression, and the work of civil society.[/size]
    [size=45]For his part, the Prime Minister appreciated the United States' continued support for the Kurdistan Region, and reaffirmed the regional government's commitment to consolidating and strengthening democratic principles, protecting freedoms, and human rights in general.[/size]
    [size=45]The two sides also agreed on the necessity of holding Kurdistan Parliament elections as soon as possible, while ensuring the protection of the rights of all components of the region and addressing all problems and obstacles facing the electoral process.[/size]
