    Information / Baghdad...
A member of the Parliamentary Oil and Natural Resources Committee, Bassem Al-Gharibawi, confirmed that Ankara held Erbil responsible for the fines it owed to Baghdad.
Al-Gharibawi told Al-Maalouma, “Iraq owes 400 million dollars to Turkey, against the backdrop of the lawsuit that Iraq won against Turkey for importing Iraqi oil from Erbil from 2014 to 2018 without Iraq’s approval.”
He added, "Türkiye holds Erbil responsible for this amount, and is procrastinating and putting pressure."
He explained, "Turkey is collecting an amount of $3.5 for every barrel of Iraqi oil coming to its territory through the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline, while the previously agreed upon tariff is an amount of $1.5 for each barrel, which requires re-agreement with Turkey." End 25N
