    Denied the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), led by former Iraqi President Jalal Talabani yesterday allegations that the involvement of two of its leaders in cutting the salaries of the staff of the Kurdistan region by the federal government in Baghdad and urged former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on this procedure «Defiance» KDP, led by regional president Massoud Barzani.

    He said the political bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) said in a statement that «National Union as a political force in Kurdistan will not be smeared on these charges and scenarios fabricated, and the people of Kurdistan are more aware of being drawn behind these scenarios, policy of the National Union is to serve citizens and to provide welfare for them».
    The statement added that the Kurdish forces and Iraqi «witnessing of the National Union, in turn, a senior» in the parliamentary debates in order to stabilize the region’s share of the federal budget, in addition to its role in efforts to resolve the problems between Erbil and Baghdad, pointing out that the launch of the Territory’s budget and salaries of employees of Kurdistan was the most prominent points discussed by the political bureau of the Patriotic Union in a meeting with the new Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in Sulaimaniya last Friday.

The agency quoted an unnamed informed source, as saying that al-Abadi spoke clearly about the role of the two leaders of the party in Talabani, Maliki urged the issuance of the decision to cut the budget, without being nominated.
