The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan confirmed, on Wednesday, that if the Democratic Party remains insisting on the nomination of Hoshyar Zebari for the presidency, all previous agreements between the two parties will be blown up.
The leader of the National Union, Ghiath al-Sorji, said in an exclusive interview with Mawazine News Agency, that the dialogues are suspended and all directions are leading to a political blockage with the Democratic Party.
Al-Sorji noted, "Although a few days remain for dialogue, I am pessimistic about reaching solutions with Barzani's party."
He added that the political custom confirms that the presidency of the Republic is for the Kurds, but the historical agreements between Jalal Talabani and Massoud Barzani confirmed that the presidency of the Republic of the National Union and the presidency of the region for democracy, and that by violating the presidency agreement, all previous agreements will be destroyed.
