    Baghdad today - Baghdad
A member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Karim Aliwi, stressed today, Wednesday, the need to tighten procedures in customs to prevent smuggling and cases of corruption.
Aliwi told "Baghdad Today" that "the executive and oversight authorities are required to tighten their procedures in customs to prevent smuggling and corruption," noting that "the tightening must include customs in the Kurdistan region as well, which is witnessing smuggling and corruption, without any supervision on that." .
He added, "The competent authorities at the ports and customs are working on a daily basis to uncover many operations that violate import conditions and controls, but these procedures must be tightened."
"We will work, with the start of the new legislative term, to host the relevant authorities to discuss this important file with them," Aliwi added.
