    [rtl]Baghdad-Iraq today:[/rtl]
[rtl]The Iraqi Ministry of Communications said that, starting today, Sunday, it will lift the ban imposed a few days ago on the Telegram application due to security concerns and the leakage of data related to official state institutions and citizens.[/rtl]
[rtl]Telegram is widely used in Iraq for messaging, content sharing, and as a news source.[/rtl]
[rtl]Some Telegram channels contain a lot of personal data, including names, addresses, and family links of Iraqis.[/rtl]
[rtl]The ministry said in a statement that the decision was taken "in response to the response of the company that owns the application to the requirements of the security authorities by revealing the parties that leaked citizens' data and expressing its full readiness to communicate with the competent authorities." authorities and naming official channels for them to communicate with Iraq.”[/rtl]
[rtl]"Posting private data without consent is prohibited by Telegram's terms of service and our moderators routinely delete such content," a member of Telegram's press team said, in response to a Reuters request for comment.[/rtl]
[rtl]"We can confirm that our moderators removed several channels that shared personal data. But we can also confirm that no private user data was requested from Telegram and none was shared," he added.[/rtl]
[rtl]The ministry had stated, last week, that the company had not responded to its request to close the platforms to leak the data of official state institutions and the personal data of citizens.[/rtl]
