    A member of the State of Law Coalition, Saad Al-Mutalabi, confirmed, on Sunday, that the phenomenon of extortion practiced by some officers and employees of the units of the Ministry of Defense and the Interior of the citizens of agricultural areas through their bargaining in order to enter construction materials into their areas has become an exposed phenomenon.

    Al-Mutalabi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma, "Recently, there has been a widespread phenomenon of extortion by some officers and employees of the Ministry of Defense and the Interior of the citizens of agricultural areas through their bargaining in order to enter construction materials into their areas." 
    He added, "Poor follow-up by the higher authorities in the government and the competent authorities led to the spread of this type of extortion phenomenon in the capital, Baghdad, and a number of provinces."
    A member of the State of Law Coalition called on the government to "follow up on this phenomenon and direct the Ministries of Defense and Interior and operational leaders in Baghdad and the provinces to form committees to investigate and hold abusers accountable to preserve the prestige of our security forces and enforce the law." It is noteworthy that many complaints were directed by citizens, to the media, with the aim of stopping the extortion operations practiced by some weak-minded people in military units in agricultural areas. End / 25 pm
