    On Monday, Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibes Al-Saadawi discussed with representatives of the World Bank the mechanism for auditing the designs of the Development Road Project.
    The Ministry stated in a statement received by Al-Maalouma, that “Minister Razzaq Muhaibas received a delegation from the World Bank, headed by Ibrahim Al-Dajjani, Director of the Transport Sector in the Middle East and North Africa, and the membership of Soran Hama Ali, Chief Infrastructure Specialist and Director of the Transport Sector in Iraq, and Derek.” Mahoney, a senior infrastructure specialist within the World Bank Group, while attending alongside the minister were the Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Hazem Al-Hafdi, the Director of the General Company for the Transport of Passengers and Delegations, Karim Kazem Hussein, the Director of the General Company for Iraqi Railways, Younis Al-Kaabi, a representative of the International Cooperation Department, and a number Another official.
    She added, "The meeting discussed a number of strategic projects that are the top priorities of the ministry's work, especially the development road project and the rehabilitation and development of the railway and mass transit network in the country, and developed a plan for cooperation to implement these priorities to improve the national economy and serve Iraqi citizens."
    The Minister of Transport stressed that “the development road is an important, vital regional project, and we look forward to its full implementation and completion,” noting that “the Iraqi government is looking forward to benefiting from the global expertise of the World Bank in the field of regional and intercontinental transport, and in the field of providing the Ministry of Transport with advice, opinions and viewpoints.” “Competent and related to the project designs prepared by the Italian consulting company designing the project.”
    In turn, World Bank officials explained that they are “working on preparing a study on appropriate options for linking global trade between the East and the West, including the path of development and the resulting flow of investments from the public and private sectors, in development projects and creating job opportunities,” stressing, “The Grand Al-Faw Port has an important future in the global transport sector.”
    Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stressed, “During the third meeting of the Supreme Committee for Implementing the Development Road Project, the Ministry of Transport and the Board of Advisors must prepare a mechanism to contract with the World Bank, to be a partner in auditing the project designs prepared by the Italian consultant.” Ended 25 n
