    Today, Monday, the representative of the Sadiqoun parliamentary bloc, Suhaila Al-Sultani, resolved the controversy over Parliament’s intention to pass a general amnesty law, stressing that her bloc stands against such a law, in addition to the absence of any agreement or political consensus to pass it within Parliament.

    Al-Sultani told Al-Maalouma, “The general amnesty law did not receive any political or parliamentary agreement in order to pass it in the House of Representatives, especially since the Sadiqoun bloc stands against such a law, and rejects any law that removes criminals from prisons who have shed the blood of Iraqis.” 
    He added, "The Iraqi constitution and law include unquestionable penalties against criminals and terrorists, in addition to the fact that the judiciary has previously issued rulings against those who shed blood and committed sins against Iraqis, and therefore convicts cannot be released from prisons through a general amnesty." 
    He stated that "thousands of martyrs fell victim to crimes and terrorism, and these actions left thousands of orphans and widows, and therefore there are no justifications for legislating a general amn
