Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Real Estate Bank decided to cancel the annual interest of the Central Bank initiative.
It was stated in an official letter issued by the bank and sent to the Central Bank of Iraq, seen by Shafaq News Agency, that the bank adopted the administrative commission as previously done in the previous initiative and canceled the annual interest to be zero, based on the lending contract and the new recovered funds.
The bank asked the bank to agree to amend the loan term to be 20 years instead of 15 years, in addition to applying it to new requests only, due to the presence of many transactions that were previously organized and were not disbursed due to the expiry of the initiative’s funds.
Earlier, the Government Real Estate Bank decided to make “new” changes allowing the replacement of a property reserved for the bank with another.
A document signed by the Director of the Bank Credit Department, Ali Saad Ali, and addressed to the bank’s branches, obtained by Shafaq News Agency, stated that the bank’s board of directors decided to approve the debt recycling process in accordance with the terms of the loan granted pursuant to it and to collect an administrative commission of 5% of the remaining amount of the loan. A contract is organized in the name of the new borrower, and the inquiry is completed for the borrower and the new guarantor.
The Council also agreed, according to the document, to replace a property seized for the benefit of the Land Bank and transfer the seizure to another property, provided that an inspection is conducted on the property presented as a new guarantee instead of the seized property, provided that the value is equal to or higher than the value of the entire loan and an administrative commission of 1% of the value is collected. Loan.
The document indicated that all requests are submitted to the General Administration, the Office of the Director General, and according to the authority that the Council has transferred to it by granting the necessary approvals to ensure the smooth flow of work.
The Central Bank of Iraq has allocated 6 trillion since 2015 to launch two housing loan initiatives. The first is a five trillion initiative that went to sectoral banks, which are industrial, agricultural, real estate, and the Housing Fund, and a one trillion initiative that went to private banks.
At the end of the year 2021, the Central Bank of Iraq decided to increase the housing initiative’s allocations to the Real Estate Bank and the Housing Fund by an amount of (2.6) trillion Iraqi dinars.
