A statement by the National Security Advisory received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated, “Al-Araji headed a high-level security delegation, along with a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to Sulaymaniyah to follow up on the implementation of the border agreement between Iraq and Iran.”
He added, "Al-Araji met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, and during the meeting, they discussed the implementation of the border agreement with Iran and the strengthening of security cooperation between the center and the region."
Al-Araji pointed out that "the Prime Minister is following up and confirming his keenness to end this file, in order to preserve Iraq's sovereignty," indicating that "Iraq continues to seek to prevent the presence of any armed groups that attack neighboring countries from its territory."
Al-Araji explained, "There is great progress in the border agreement file, and we are in the final touches of the agreement, indicating that there is cooperation from the Kurdistan region to implement the remainder of the agreement."
For his part, Qubad Talabani stressed, “The region’s readiness to cooperate with the federal government in completing this agreement,” pointing out that “there is progress in the steps to implement it.”[/size]
