The Iraqi Oil Minister, Hayyan Abdul Ghani, confirmed today, Sunday, the government’s keenness to find appropriate mechanisms to resume production and export of oil from the fields of the Kurdistan region.
The ministry said in a statement received by IQ NEWS, “The Minister of Oil arrived in the Kurdistan region and was received by the region’s Minister of Natural Resources, Kamal Muhammad Salih, and a number of officials.”
Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani said, according to the statement, “The visit comes as a continuation of the discussions that took place in Baghdad to discuss the resumption of production operations and the export of oil from the region’s fields due to the importance of this in supplying the federal budget with financial revenues.”
He pointed out "the government's keenness to find appropriate mechanisms to resume production and export of oil from the region's fields," stressing that "he will meet a number of officials in the region."
