Today, Thursday, the Election Commission announced the receipt of the second batch of biometric cards, while indicating that the total number of cards received in the first and second batches amounted to 1,553,482 cards.
Commission spokeswoman Jumana Al-Ghalai said, “The Commission received the second batch of biometric cards, numbering 409,358 cards for the governorates of (Holy Karbala, Wasit, Salah al-Din, Najaf al-Ashraf, Diwaniyah, and Muthanna).”
She added, "These cards will be distributed among the governorate electoral offices and in turn to the registration centers for the purpose of distributing them among voters in cooperation with the mobile teams," calling on all voters to "visit the registration centers to receive their biometric cards."
She confirmed that "the total number of cards received in the first and second phases amounted to one million, 553 thousand and 482 biometric cards in the governorates of Baghdad, Nineveh, Kirkuk, Diyala, Anbar, Babylon, Holy Karbala, Wasit, Salah al-Din, Najaf al-Ashraf, Diwaniyah, and Muthanna."
