Civil Aviation denies recording a collision on the runway at Baghdad Airport

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority denied recording a collision on the runway at Baghdad Airport.
A statement by the Aviation Authority stated, “Some social media outlets circulated a video recording showing the presence of two planes, one landing and the other preparing to take off, on the runway of Baghdad International Airport, to mislead public opinion that there was an accident on the airport runway.”
The authority “categorically denied such misleading allegations, and the procedures for regulating aircraft movement at all Iraqi airports are the responsibility and jurisdiction of the General Company for Air Navigation Services, one of the formations of the Ministry of Transport (air controllers), while the Civil Aviation Authority undertakes the tasks of investigating in the event of “Any defect in the procedures for organizing air traffic control services,” noting that “the authority has carried out its supervisory role in conducting an investigation into this matter.”
The authority affirmed, according to the statement, “that it reserves its right to take legal measures against those who dare to continue to accuse them of it,” pointing out that “these false accusations will not prevent us from meeting the requirements of international organizations, especially after obtaining high ratings for the security audit of the authority by the organization.” The International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO), which in turn is in the interest of the Iraqi state.
