Today, Friday (December 1, 2023), an informed source revealed the date for which the federal government will send an amount of 700 billion dinars to the Kurdistan region.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The Ministry of Finance in the federal government will send an amount of 700 billion dinars in the form of 3 payments, starting next Monday."
He explained, "The Ministry of Finance, through the banks of Mesopotamia and Rasheed, and the Trade Bank of Iraq, will send financial payments to be placed in the account of the regional government, after which the Ministry of Finance in the regional government will begin disbursing employee salaries by the middle of next week."
After the Kurdish delegation visited the capital, Baghdad, member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafa Muhammad Karim, revealed to “Baghdad Today” the contents of the agreement between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Karim said yesterday, Thursday (November 30, 2023), that “the Kurdish government delegation that visited the capital, Baghdad, last Monday, demanded two things from Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani.”
He added, "The first request is to implement the budget agreement and send the region's full share of the budget. The other request is to send the amount of 3 salaries remaining for the current year, which are the salaries of October, November, and December."
Karim pointed out, “The Sudanese agreed to send 700 billion dinars for each of the remaining three months of the current year, on the condition that the Council of Ministers votes on this proposal, and at most this issue will be presented to the Council in its next session next week.”
