    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, confirmed today, Friday, that Iraq has now become more stable, pointing to the success of the provincial council elections.

    A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, and his accompanying delegation met with Dutch Foreign Minister Hanke Probens Salwa, at the headquarters of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”

    The statement added, "At the beginning of the meeting, Salwa welcomed the Deputy Prime Minister, and pointed out the importance of the meeting in light of the ongoing escalation in Gaza and the Middle East."

    According to the statement, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that "Iraq has now become more stable," pointing to "the success of the provincial council elections that took place recently in Iraq, calling on the Netherlands to participate in a greater role in Iraq, especially in the areas of water and agriculture."

    He stressed, "Iraq seeks to spare the Palestinian people all the tragedies to which they are exposed as a result of the Zionist aggression against Palestinian cities."

    For her part, the Dutch Foreign Minister stressed "the importance of her country's broader participation in the projects implemented by Iraq."[/size]
