The Prime Minister’s Media Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani chaired the regular meeting to follow up on the implementation of the Ministry of Oil’s projects and the Ministry’s plans for developing and expanding the oil sector in Iraq.”
He added, "The meeting witnessed a review of the plans drawn up by the Ministry and a review of what has been implemented, especially those related to the production, transportation and distribution sectors, as well as the production of derivatives and plans to reach self-sufficiency and meet national consumption during this year."
Al-Sudani stressed - according to the statement - that “government attention is focused on the oil sector as it still represents the backbone of the national economy, and that accelerating its development will reflect positively at the national level,” stressing “the need for government officials to focus on how they achieve achievements.” “Especially what meets the aspirations of citizens and achieves a qualitative transformation in their lives and their living and economic conditions.”
The statement explained, "The Prime Minister was briefed on the latest developments in investment efforts in associated gas, in addition to plans related to integrated oil projects and the date of announcing the supplement to the fifth and sixth licensing rounds."[/size]
