    The representative of Iraq before the International Court of Justice confirmed today, Thursday (February 22, 2024), that the Israeli occupation is working to completely isolate the Palestinians, calling for an end to the killing machine practiced by Israel against the Palestinian people.
    The representative of Iraq said during the fourth day of public hearings organized by the International Court of Justice regarding the legal consequences and practices of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories that “the court must stop the killing machine practiced by Israel against the Palestinian people,” stressing that “Israel must adhere to the order that Issued by International Justice based on the Gaza Genocide Convention. 
    He added, "The occupation is committing violations against humanity as a whole and the Palestinian people in particular, stressing that we believe that the court has jurisdiction and to express an advisory opinion regarding the legal consequences resulting from Israeli practices in the Palestinian territories." 
     He pointed out that the Israeli occupation is obligated to implement international agreements on the basis of the Geneva Conventions, stressing that the Israeli occupation is working to strip the city of Jerusalem of its original population and replace them with settlers. 
     Iraq's representative before the International Court of Justice stressed "the necessity of complying with the rules of international law and the court's decisions regarding the legal consequences of building the apartheid wall in the occupied territories."
    On Monday (February 19, 2024), the International Court of Justice began hearings on the pleadings of more than 50 countries regarding the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories. 
    The court's judges are scheduled to hear, for a week, arguments from more than 50 countries, based on a request submitted by the United Nations General Assembly for the court in 2022 to issue an advisory, that is, non-binding, opinion regarding the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and its legal repercussions.
