the leader of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Mahmoud Al-Hayani, confirmed that the delay in choosing a replacement for former Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi represents a clear violation of the Iraqi constitution.
Al-Hayani told Mawazine News that "resolving the crisis of the presidency of Parliament is necessary to complete the process of legislative authority and carry out its implementation under the supervision of the executive authority," pointing out that "the coordination framework left the choice of the presidential personality to the Sunni blocs."
He added, "The Coordination Framework forces have no intention of breaking the prevailing political norms in Iraq."
He pointed out that, "If Muhammad Al-Halbousi gave up his right to the seat of the Presidency of Parliament, he would receive a number of ministries in the government."
