spokesman for the Kurdistan Region Presidency, Dilshad Shihab, confirmed that the issue of salaries for Kurdistan Region employees has taken an important step forward.
Dilshad Shihab said in an interview followed by Mawazine News: “Regarding the visit of the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, to Baghdad, “the issue of salaries has taken an important step forward, and we wanted to separate salaries from other issues.”
Dilshad Shihab added that the other Iraqi parties “confirmed the absence of Any attempt to deviate from the constitution and weaken the Kurdistan region,” noting that “our demand is always not to link salaries to political conflicts.”
He pointed out that “there are positive steps on both sides regarding the issue of salaries,” pointing out that “the oil and gas law will resolve all issues related to oil.”
The spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Presidency stressed that there must be a continuous dialogue with the federal government, and not only when problems arise. Regarding
the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections, Dilshad Shihab explained that it is “a hot issue and was discussed in all the meetings of the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, in Baghdad, but this issue is internal, and we must solve it among ourselves, and all Iraqi parties have expressed their readiness to hold elections.”
The spokesman for the Kurdistan Region Presidency stated, “When matters reach a level that creates problems for the continuation of relations, Nechirvan Barzani must be ready.”
