Jordan's King Abdullah II said on Wednesday that the reopening of the border crossing between Iraq and Jordan is an important step towards boosting trade and investment between the two countries, pointing out that his country is moving towards implementing the oil pipeline between the two countries.
"The reopening of the Trebil crossing, the vital artery between Jordan and Iraq, is an important step towards boosting trade and investment between the two countries, an opportunity for the rise of the Jordanian industrial, commercial and financial sector and an increase in exports," Abdullah II said in an interview with the official Jordanian news agency. He expressed his hope that "the pace and volume of goods and exports will be increased and bilateral trade will be restored to its previous levels and even more so as we move towards the implementation of the oil line between the two countries."
