A member of the Foreign Relations Committee in Parliament, Mukhtar Al-Moussawi, confirmed that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani intends to present the economic file and the possibility of supporting the Iraqi economy, and this support is represented “by lifting sanctions on some Iraqi banks, as well as providing a sufficient abundance of US dollars by (The US Federal Bank).
Al-Moussawi said, in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News, that “Al-Sudani will focus, during his visit to Washington, on the economic file and the possibility of supporting the Iraqi economy.” This support is represented by "lifting sanctions on some Iraqi banks, as well as providing a sufficient abundance of US dollars by the US Federal Bank."
Al-Moussawi added, "The American side does not want, during the Sudanese visit, to truly resolve any of the files, but rather to make the visit a protocol with no real agreements in it." He considered that the visit "will be a visit of support to the Sudanese, more from a media standpoint than from a realistic standpoint." As for the American withdrawal file, Al-Moussawi does not believe that it will be discussed in a real way, “and it may be raised marginally, during Al-Sudani’s dialogues in the White House.”

He stated that "Al-Sudani is facing political pressure, as well as from the (Iraqi armed factions allied with Iran) regarding the issue of the American withdrawal from Iraq."
He believes that there is no seriousness to this withdrawal from Washington, which “may introduce Sudanese and his government into many problems during the next stage.” Pointing out that "this matter may restart factional operations" against American interests and forces in Iraq.
