[size=45]The Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairi, announced that the quantities of wheat marketed in all Iraqi governorates have reached 2 million tons, indicating that the marketing season is witnessing a double increase.[/size]
[size=45]The Ministry stated in a statement:
The Minister of Commerce, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi, announced “the receipt of the first quantities marketed in Silo Makhmour, marking the start of the Baraka and Creativity marketing season for the current year in Nineveh Governorate, in the presence of a number of representatives of Nineveh Governorate, the public administrations of the grain trading and manufacturing companies, and the head of the Agricultural Committee in The governorate, in addition to the security and regulatory agencies and a group of farmers.”[/size]
[size=45]The minister said during a press conference: On this occasion, we are among our farmers, announcing the start of the harvest in Nineveh, the governorate that is described as having an agricultural weight and the first in terms of the size of the quantities expected to be marketed, and which receives great attention in preparing for the season by the General Company for Grain Trade by taking all measures to support the farmers.[/size]
[size=45]Minister Al-Ghurairi indicated that expectations indicate that the marketing season will witness a double increase and requires everyone’s cooperation to make it a success, as it is the most important in the history of previous seasons after we achieved self-sufficiency last year and the blessing this year in light of the great government support provided to the farmer, local production and productive areas.[/size]
[size=45]Pointing out that the marketing season in the southern governorates is almost over, and the quantities marketed in all governorates have so far reached two million tons, after the marketing plan succeeded in the center and south.[/size]
[size=45]At the same time, the Minister stressed the plan prepared under the supervision of the Prime Minister and the security services to stop smuggling and theft operations.[/size]
[size=45]The Minister noted, “Conducting a major campaign in cooperation with the private sector in all governorates to secure storage capacity to absorb the quantities expected to be marketed, while making technical decisions by the Central Marketing Committee, simplifying procedures, and paying financial dues immediately after receipt, and all of this serves the farmer first.”[/size]
[size=45]General Director of Cereals, Dr. Haider Al-Karaawi, for his part, reviewed the quantities marketed for last year, which achieved self-sufficiency and the measures taken by the company to make the season of blessing, creativity, preparation, and readiness to receive the expected quantities in Nineveh Governorate a success. He pointed out that the governorate is the first in production and we expect this year to be so.[/size]
