Today, Sunday, Representative Haider Al-Mutairi resolved the controversy regarding the Ministry of Interior’s appointments in the 2024 budget tables, while indicating that he had communicated with the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, in this regard.
Al-Mutairi said in an interview followed by Al-Iqtisad News: “We received many appeals to clarify the fact that there are appointments to the formations of the Ministry of Interior that will be covered financially through the 2024 budget tables.”
He added, "Communication was made directly with the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, who in turn confirmed that there were no appointments within the ministry's budget or any other job grades."
Al-Mutairi pointed out that "the Minister confirmed the transfer of sums allocated for social care for unemployed youth who are covered by the social protection program or what is known as social care, and they will be transferred to the Interior Ministry's formations to benefit from them."
On Monday (May 27, 2024), Representative Nayef Al-Shammari detailed the decision to transfer some of those entitled to social welfare into contracts at the Ministry of Interior.
The representative’s media office said in a statement, received by Al-Iqtisad News, that “to transfer from social welfare to police contracts, the ages must be between 18 and 23 years, with a number of 37,200.”
He added, "The contract is for a period of three years, after which it will be transferred to the permanent owners," indicating that "this decision will be implemented after the 2024 budget."
Last Sunday, the Ministry of Labor announced the direct transfer of the allocation of 37,200 people covered by social assistance to transfer them to contracts to the Ministry of Interior upon approval of the 2024 budget.
The tripartite budget annually includes contracts for the Ministry of the Interior amounting to more than 37 thousand contracts, while the Minister of the Interior revealed at the beginning of this year that contracts this year in the Ministry of the Interior would be allocated to those covered by social care exclusively for the purpose of benefiting from their energies, as they receive 275 thousand dinars at the Ministry of Labor, but they will receive 500 One thousand dinars from the Ministry of Interior after converting them into contracts.
