    Baghdad -
INA Advisor to the Prime Minister, Turhan Al-Mufti, revealed today, Wednesday, two projects related to the local government in Kirkuk, while calling on the political blocs in Kirkuk Governorate to invest in the sponsorship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani for the negotiation meetings regarding the formation of the governorate.

The Mufti said in an interview with Al-Iraqiya News, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Kirkuk has not witnessed actual and practical political activities and negotiations related to the governorate since 2005, when the last local government elections were held in the governorate.”
He added, "The political activities currently taking place are the first since 2005, so they required more time than the rest of the governorates, and it is fortunate for the governorate and the political blocs that the negotiations are taking place under the auspices of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, who gave qualitative weight to these meetings that concern the governorate, which It helped the rapid growth, as these meetings are expected to end soon.”
The Mufti continued, “The law is clear regarding Kirkuk, as it stipulates that all the winning blocs participate in the administration of the governorate, and the mechanism for distributing these positions remains according to the winning blocs in Kirkuk or according to the winning components,” noting that “there are two projects within the current vision, the first is that there will be a rotation of the position.” The governor and the rest of the positions that follow that can remain fixed, except for the position of governor and head of the provincial council. As for the other project, it will rotate between two blocs only, and the winning blocs will get other positions whose weight is equal to the position of governor, and now it is time to come out with the result of agreement on one of these two projects. To form the local government in Kirkuk.
He pointed out that "there is currently a wait for some figures who perform Hajj rituals to resume meetings, and I call on the political blocs in Kirkuk to take advantage of Sudanese sponsorship for their meetings because this sponsorship means the presence of a guarantor party, which does not allow non-implementation of what is being signed within the agreement," stressing the "necessity of Investing in the presence of the federal government in meetings to obtain some exceptions related to Kirkuk to accelerate reconstruction in the province.”[/size]
