    The Iraqi Foreign Ministry expressed, today, Wednesday, its condemnation in the strongest terms of the assassination of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh.

    The ministry stressed that "this aggressive operation is a flagrant violation of international laws and a threat to security and stability in the region."

    It expressed "Iraq's full solidarity with the Palestinian people and their leadership in these difficult moments," calling on the international community to "assume its responsibilities and take the necessary measures to stop the repeated attacks and violations of the sovereignty of states."

    The ministry pointed out "the [url=https://www.alsumaria.tv/entity/47585/%D8%AC%D9%85%D9%87%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%82/ar/]Republic of Iraq[/url]'s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital."
