[rtl]Iraq's imports of medicines from France amounted to more than $60 million during the past year 2023, according to the Trade Map website, which specializes in providing data on international exports and imports.[/rtl]
[rtl]According to statistics available on the website, Iraq imported medicines from France worth $61 million and 184 thousand, representing 4% of total medicine imports.[/rtl]
[rtl]Imports included medicines consisting of mixed and unmixed products for therapeutic uses in an amount of 487 tons, worth 54 million and 338 thousand dollars, while Iraq imported quantities of human blood for therapeutic uses worth 6 million and 665 thousand dollars.[/rtl]
[rtl]He also imported 2 tons of pharmaceutical products and preparations worth $286,000, in addition to padding, gauze, bandages and adhesive bandages worth $7,000.[/rtl]
[rtl]It is worth noting that AIDS first appeared in Iraq in 1986 as a result of a number of citizens suffering from hereditary hemorrhage receiving Factor VIII imported from France, which was contaminated with the virus, which led to the infection of 286 people.[/rtl]
[rtl]In 2014, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs also filed a lawsuit against a French company, accusing it of exporting blood products contaminated with HIV to Iraq in 1986.[/rtl]
