    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
A government source reported, today, Tuesday (August 27, 2024), that the central government is financing the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees for the months of July and August.
The source told Baghdad Today, "The Iraqi government has allocated 34 billion dinars for the salaries of Kurdistan employees for the month of July."
She added that "it also allocated 550 billion dinars for August salaries to the account of the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Regional Government."
It is noteworthy that a Kurdish source reported yesterday, Monday, that the Federal Ministry of Finance paid the salaries of last July and this August to the security services in the Kurdistan Region .
The source told Baghdad Today, "By order of the Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, the Federal Ministry of Finance paid the salaries for the months of July and August to the security forces and agencies in Kurdistan ."
He pointed out that "there is a federal committee to review the payrolls of other institutions ."
The spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government, Peshwa Hawrami, said yesterday, "The salaries of the employees of the Kurdistan Region have not arrived from Baghdad for more than 50 days," noting that "the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, is in constant contact with the federal government to address the problem of delayed salaries ."
He added, "There is no need to send a new delegation from the Kurdistan Region to Baghdad to address the problem of delayed salaries, as the Kurdistan Region officials present in Baghdad will participate in several meetings to solve this problem ."
