Member of Parliament Yasser Al-Hussaini said on Monday that the government had falsified the facts and strayed far from the economic reality by trying to implement the Basra-Aqaba pipeline.

Al-Hussaini said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, "If the Aqaba project is implemented, despite the popular rejection, it will be considered a bad stain on the Iraqi economic history," noting that "the government is far removed from the economic reality and distorting the facts to implement this project."
He continued, "The government must not submit to external dictates whose aim is to destroy the Iraqi economy," noting that "implementing the dictates comes as a result of the government's political weakness."
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi government included the Aqaba pipeline project in the 2024 budget, despite the popular and political rejection that followed this pipeline. End 25/J
