    Hussein Al-Saadi:
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani confirmed the continuation of the work of the Iraq Development Fund according to the planned vision, and while chairing the meeting of the Higher Committee for Reconstruction and Investment, he issued a number of decisions.
The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement: "The Prime Minister chaired the periodic meeting of the Board of Directors of the Iraq Development Fund, and pointed out the importance of continuing the work of the Fund according to the planned vision, and in line with the expectations of international financial institutions, in order to attract investors from inside and outside Iraq. He also referred to the housing projects and school construction that are on their way to implementation," stressing "the necessity of working according to the new approach that the government seeks to implement, which is represented by purchasing services from investors instead of the state taking over the implementation."
During the meeting, according to the statement, "the governance guide for the Iraq Development Fund was approved, after making amendments to it and discussing the mechanisms and policies of the future work of the Fund, based on this guide, which constitutes a comprehensive framework for good governance, and aims to ensure effective and sustainable management of the Fund's assets, in line with the national objectives of its establishment and a working method that is in line with the best international practices in the field of sovereign and development funds; To ensure the highest levels of integrity, transparency and efficiency in all its investments.”
The statement continued, “The meeting discussed the mechanisms for transferring ownership of schools from the fund to the Ministry of Education and its accounting treatment, as well as the Ministry of Finance handling the guarantee of purchasing services from investors.”
In addition, the Prime Minister’s media office stated in a statement that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Investment and Reconstruction, where investment project files were followed up, investment mechanisms were developed in various economic and development sectors, and the files on the agenda were discussed and the required decisions were taken regarding them.
During the meeting, al-Sudani renewed his previous directives on the necessity of taking decisions consistent with the economic reform approach, which is one of the government’s priorities, and proceeding with the government’s plans to implement strategic and development projects, especially in the housing sector.
The meeting approved a project submitted by the private sector to establish a hospital project for specialized surgeries in Diwaniyah Governorate. Approval was also obtained for the project to develop the presidential palaces area in Basra Governorate, and grant a special investment license.
