Electricity starts maintenance of transmission lines and distribution networks

The Ministry of Electricity launched an extensive campaign to maintain transmission lines and distribution networks in all governorates as part of its preparations for the summer of next year 2025.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Ahmed Musa, told Al-Sabah: The ministry has begun early preparations for the summer of 2025, which includes launching a major campaign to rehabilitate energy transmission and distribution lines throughout the country, in addition to preparing an integrated plan to remove encroachments on the electricity grid. This comes in conjunction with increasing the productive capacities and achieving reliability in energy supply in all governorates.
He explained that the campaign also includes rehabilitating distribution networks, installing fixed and mobile stations, and creating feeders, and then instructing distribution departments to prepare complete lists to organize the work of the energy system in agricultural and informal areas and electrify them with the regular national grid.
He pointed out that the campaign aims to rehabilitate the electrical network with scheduled maintenance work to address weak points, balance loads and open new power sources as part of preparations for the winter season, as new power sources were opened for some transformers in Najaf Governorate and a number of other governorates, in order to balance loads, as cables and wires of different types were withdrawn in order to reduce pressure on the power networks.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Electricity works throughout the year within the maintenance work for each season, from withdrawing wires and gaps hanging from the feeders for distributing electrical energy, and pruning trees touching the wires to avoid recurrence of faults and the continuity of
electrical energy.
