    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl] Air  quality data  in Baghdad indicate  that pollution levels have been stable since Tuesday evening until  now  within the “very unhealthy” range, compared to the  highest level  recorded during the early hours of Tuesday morning, which was within the “dangerous” level.[/rtl]

[rtl]The air pollution index levels in Baghdad ranged from 7 pm yesterday, Tuesday, until noon today between 209 and 278 as the highest limit, with the index changing every hour.[/rtl]

[rtl]But the index reached 590 at dawn and on Tuesday morning between 6 and 7 a.m. on Tuesday, which is classified as “dangerous,” compared to a less severe current classification described as “very unhealthy.”[/rtl]

[rtl]In total, the average pollution index in Baghdad is currently 189, making it second after Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.[/rtl]

[rtl]But on a deeper level, the air quality meter at the US embassy and Rashid Hotel recorded levels of 209, which is equivalent to 134 micrograms/cubic meter, but the meter on the Rusafa side is currently at 179, which is equivalent to only 95 micrograms/cubic meter.[/rtl]

[rtl]Over the past few days, air quality measurements at the US Embassy and near Karkh have been showing higher levels of pollution than those recorded in Rusafa, which may reinforce the idea that the pollution is caused by the Dora power plants and the Dora refinery.[/rtl]
