The President of the Republic discusses the investment situation in the country

Yesterday, Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received the Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Dr. Haider Muhammad Makiya, and discussed with him the reality of investment in Iraq, stressing the need to develop a strategic housing policy that takes into account those with limited income.
A statement by the Presidency's Media Department, received by "Al-Sabah", stated that the meeting witnessed a discussion of the reality of investment in Iraq, and mechanisms for enhancing confidence in the local investment environment.
The statement explained that the President of the Republic stressed the need to diversify investment in strategic projects and infrastructure, calling for expanding investment plans towards the industrial and agricultural sectors, and contributing to developing the reality of the national economy through cooperation with specialized and solid investment companies.
The statement indicated that the President of the Republic called for the Authority to have an effective and influential role in supporting and encouraging the private sector, in addition to developing a strategic housing policy that takes into account those with limited income and is consistent with their purchasing power.
For his part, the Chairman of the Investment Authority reviewed his institution’s future work plans and available investment opportunities, appreciating the President’s directives and his vision for developing the Authority’s role and improving its performance.
