Member of the United Alliance, Ahmed Al-Dulaimi, revealed today, Friday, that the Coordination Framework initiative paved the way for holding the first meeting of the Sunni Alliance, with the attendance of all their representatives, to discuss the election of a Speaker of Parliament.
Al-Dulaimi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency that "the Coordination Framework initiative paved the way for holding a meeting of Sunni alliances in Anbar with the attendance of all their representatives without the absence of any alliance, including the Progress Alliance, which sent 3 of its party leaders to attend the meeting to agree on a consensus figure to fill the position of Parliament Speaker and to move forward in implementing what was agreed upon between the leaders of the Sunni forces and the framework to end the Parliament Speakership complex."
He added that "the meeting did not witness any verbal altercations between the attendees as was the case previously, indicating that there is a consensus among all political alliances to resolve the parliamentary presidency issue within a few days." End / 12A
