Member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Muthanna Amin, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the regional government must fight the battle of guaranteeing the salaries of its employees, not settlement in private banks, considering that settlement is a chapter of the guarantee granted by the Federal Court to the region’s employees.
He said in a statement followed by Al-Masry that “the settlement is a decision taken by the Federal Court, and the latter’s decisions are final and binding and must be implemented. It is a chapter of the guarantee that that court granted to the region’s employees,” indicating that “the fate of the (Hisabi) project is to join the settlement if it meets the conditions of the Iraqi Ministry of Finance and the Federal Court.”
He explained that “the efforts of some parties to reject localization have caused concern and sparked a flood of questions about its meaning and purpose, at a time when there is no country in the world that forces its employees to localize their salaries in a specific bank,” reiterating that “localization in federal banks is part of the guarantees that the Federal Court has granted to the region’s employees and it must be taken into consideration, and the regional government must not engage in the battle of localization in private banks.”
He stressed that "the responsibility requires everyone, especially the regional government, to ensure the release of employees' salaries and put an end to the citizens' anxiety and suffering in a manner that meets the conditions of the Central Bank and the Federal Ministry of Finance and eliminates the excuses for cutting salaries."
