Baghdad/Al-Masala: The Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee confirmed, on Sunday, the government’s success in keeping Iraq away from the circle of war in the region.
Committee member Mukhtar al-Moussawi said, “Despite all the tensions in the region and the war and its expansion, the Iraqi government has been able to a large extent to distance Iraq from its circle, and has confirmed its position in adopting a policy of neutrality and not entering into the policy of axes,” indicating that “this policy has strengthened its regional and international position.”
Al-Moussawi added, “Since the outbreak of the Gaza war and then the Lebanon war until now, Iraq has been seeking by all available diplomatic means to stop the Zionist aggression and prevent the expansion of the war, while emphasizing the firm position that Iraq should not be part of any war in the region or the world.”
The Ministerial Council for National Security stressed that Iraq's supreme interests require working to keep its lands and airspace away from the war machine that the Zionist entity is trying to expand.
