Today, Tuesday (November 19, 2024), Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani discussed with Chinese Ambassador Cui Wei bilateral relations between Baghdad and Beijing.
The media office of the Speaker of the Council of Representatives said in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", "Al-Mashhadani received the Chinese Ambassador to Iraq, Cui Wei, and discussed with him bilateral relations between Iraq and China, and ways to enhance them in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples."
The statement added that "the two sides exchanged various views on the Iraqi-Chinese strategic partnership relations in the economic, commercial and industrial aspects in depth."
Al-Mashhadani said, according to the statement, that "Iraqi-Chinese relations are characterised by their strength and stability, especially in the political, economic, developmental and tourism fields, which encourages both sides to preserve and develop them."
He called on China and the rest of the world to support the Palestinian cause and enhance efforts to stop the unjust war waged by the Zionist entity on Gaza and Lebanon.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador congratulated the Speaker of the House of Representatives on assuming the presidency of the Council, wishing him success in his duties.
