The population census is the process of counting and collecting demographic, social and economic data about the population. This data is a vital basis for planning and sustainable development, as it allows governments and organizations to develop development policies and programs based on accurate and up-to-date information.
The importance of the population census in development is highlighted through planning for public services, as the census helps determine population needs in the areas of health, education and infrastructure, which contributes to better allocating and distributing resources to improve the standard of living of the population according to available capabilities.
In addition, the analysis of demographic trends allows the analysis of population data and understanding different trends such as population growth and migration, which helps in developing appropriate policies that lead to achieving real development, as population data can be used to identify areas with weak economic growth and provide support to them.
