Finishing What I Start Empty Finishing What I Start

    Post by csd9013 Thu 19 Nov 2015, 8:20 am

"Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2, NKJV

For me, it is easy to start things. When it comes to finishing, that is a different story. I find as I get closer to the goal, it requires more of my time, effort, sacrifice, and endurance to finish. It requires an attitude that bounces back if something didn't work and to try again until it does.

When God sends forth His Word, it doesn't come back void, but it accomplishes what He sent it to do (Isaiah 55:11). If God told you to start it, you can be sure you can finish it. Jesus is not only the author of your faith, but also the finisher of it. He is the one that you look to accomplish everything you set out to do. He is the example of endurance. He is the example of courage. He is the example of love, giving and sacrifice.

Don't give up. Keep pressing forward to that joy set before you. The joy of your ministry. The joy of waiting until you're married. The joy of that degree. The joy of your calling. Receive the King's grace and keep your eyes on the King! Jesus in you will help you finish.

Prayer: Father, You have made me a finisher. Your joy is my strength. There is so much joy before me. I rebuke the devil and his lies. I look to You Jesus, the author and finisher of the faith I need to complete what God has told me to do. I have started and I receive the King's grace to finish! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!
