    Baghdad/JD/... The Iraqi Ministry of trade discussed regulatory reform and administrative project with USAID.

    The
    Ministry said in a statement received/JD/copy: held a meeting with the
    project coordinator of the insistence of the United States Agency for
    development, Lami in the presence of the Director General of the foreign
    economic relations Ministry Hashim Mohammed Hatem plus expert draft
    thread on biov and a number of staff with competence.

    The
    statement said: during the meeting discussing future cooperation between
    the Ministry of Commerce and the insistence of the United States Agency
    for international development.

    And the u.s. Embassy in Baghdad,
    in July 2012 through the u.s. Agency for international development
    (USAID), a memorandum of understanding with the Office of the Iraqi
    Prime Minister, outlines of American support for Iraqi efforts to
    alleviate the administrative constraints on the private sector, in line
    with the strategic framework agreement.

    The memorandum of
    understanding signed by USAID Director in Iraq Alex Dicky, Director of
    the Office of the Prime Minister Hamid Ahmed.

    This memorandum
    provides for the Agency to formally start their participation in the
    organizational and management reform project in Iraq "insistence" that
    will review and remove unnecessary actions that hamper business and
    private investment.

    Groups will work on the project the problem
    of Iraqi Government officials and representatives of the private sector
    by issuing recommendations to simplify the procedures for opening new
    businesses and get building permits and facilitate trade with
    neighboring countries and the world.

    These recommendations will
    help to significantly improve the Iraqi private sector and in the
    classification of the country to the World Bank report on
    entrepreneurship, which will support efforts to expand investment in the
    economic sector in Iraq.

    Project "insistence" one among the
    Group of projects supported by the US Embassy in Baghdad within a
    strategic framework aimed at supporting the efforts of the Iraqi
    Government to improve the private sector. /Finished/22
