Tehran attaches importance to the election of Barham Saleh as president of IraqIranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasimi welcomed the election of Barham Salih as the new president of Iraq, expressing the hope of strengthening relations between the two countries.
"I congratulate the new Iraqi president, Barham Salih, and hope that the long-standing, brotherly and brotherly relations between the two neighboring countries, Iran and Iraq, will witness a new and growing development in the new era," Qassimi said in a statement.
