    The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development said that a grant agreement had been signed with the Reconstruction Fund for the areas affected by terrorist operations in Iraq. 
    The fund provides a grant of US $ 75 million in the grant from the Government of Kuwait to fund health reconstruction projects in areas affected by terrorist operations amounting to US $ 100 million from the commitment made at the Washington donor conference to support Iraq to contribute to humanitarian needs Iraq. 
    It should be noted that the Kuwait Fund signed the Financing Agreement for the Emergency Program for the Health Sector (Phase I) on 2018/01/21, in which the Fund provided a grant of US $ 15 million.
    The grant agreement was signed on behalf of the Iraqi Fund by the President of the Fund for the Reconstruction of Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations Mustafa Mohamed Amin Al-Hiti, while signed on behalf of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development by Deputy General Manager Marwan Abdullah Al-Ghanim. 
    The projects aim to contribute to meeting the health needs in the areas of the provinces affected by the terrorist acts, through the demolition, reconstruction, rehabilitation and equipping of a number of health centers and hospitals in the various liberated areas distributed in the provinces of Anbar, Ninewa, Salahuddin, Babylon, Diyala and Kirkuk, Health services provided to citizens in those areas, in preparation for the return of displaced persons to their homes and provide a safe and stable environment for them.
    The projects include the demolition, reconstruction, rehabilitation and equipping of 32 health centers and hospitals distributed to governorates affected by terrorist acts. These include civil works, architectural works, electrical and mechanical works, including the supply and installation of specialized medical furniture and equipment and equipment for 25 health centers and hospitals, Including design work, supervision of implementation, assessment of damages resulting from terrorist acts and identification of reconstruction needs. These projects are expected to be completed by the middle of 2020. 
    Total costs For the project at about USD 85 million equivalent to KD 25 million.
    The project will be carried out by the Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations, which will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the project, while the Ministry of Health and its regional directorates will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project elements. 
    The Fund has already provided Iraq with three loans to finance projects in the energy, industry and education sectors with a total value of KD 29.8 million. The Fund also manages a number of government grants of 4 grants for projects in the social sector with a total value of 87.6 million Of which KD 32.52 million was withdrawn, in addition to a grant of US $ 10 million to contribute to the Syrian refugee crisis response plan in the Republic of Iraq.
