    The Finance Committee in the House of Representatives, on Tuesday, a trend to restructure the tax system and try to abolish taxes with new taxes that take into account the principle of tax justice.
    Committee member Ahmed al-Saffar said: "Iraq witnessed in 2015 the financial crisis prompted the previous government to impose taxes in order to improve the security reality to counter ISIS then, but with the stability of the security situation and high oil prices, there must be an amendment to the tax law by the Council MPs. "
    Al-Saffar pointed out that “the draft amendment of this law is being submitted by the government and the General Tax Authority; Unfortunately, this principle is not effective in Iraq, since it is deducted only from employees and those who can be controlled.
    The MP stressed that "the responsibility of the General Tax Authority when it was hosted in the House of Representatives lack of cooperation in the payment of taxes and may sometimes amount to a threat to the collectors, and therefore tax revenues are very low."
    Al-Saffar added, "This sector needs to be amended and reconsidered paragraphs relating to taxation in times of crisis and care for the condition of the employee and the middle classes, and be scaled according to the income of the individual, and there is an idea will be worked on by the House of Representatives and the General Tax Authority and presented as a draft law in the future On the recovery or use of deductions to improve the service sector.
