The President of the Republic, Barham Saleh, on Thursday, began to refer corruption files to the judiciary and the preparation of a new election law in the country.
In a letter to the Iraqi people, Saleh said: "We have started working in the presidency for a new election law that is more fair and more representative of the interests of the people, including the right to run for youth, and addresses the problems of the previous law."
He added, "We expect next week to present the draft law that we are working on in cooperation between the departments of the Presidency of the Republic and a number of experts, specialists and independent as well as experts of the United Nations."
He explained, "The new election law protects the votes and prevents attempts to manipulate and fraud."
Regarding the fight against corruption, the President of the Republic said that the corruption files have been referred to the judiciary for decision according to the laws and provisions in force. Finished 25 h
