On Friday, Baghdad witnessed an intense security deployment in a number of neighborhoods of the capital, as part of the preparations for the tripartite summit.
A security source said in an interview with "Nass" (June 25, 2021), that "special forces and pieces of the army deployed in a number of neighborhoods of the capital, Baghdad, as part of the plan to secure the tripartite summit between Iraq, Egypt and Jordan, which will be held in the capital at the end of this month."
He added, "The spread included neighborhoods in Karrada, Abu Nawas Street, Suleikh, the intersection of Al-Nidaa Mosque, and the Shaab area."
Yesterday, Thursday, the joint operations began developing appropriate plans to secure protection for the tripartite summit between Iraq, Egypt and Jordan.
And the Operations Command stated in a statement that “People” received a copy of it (June 24, 2021), that “the Commander of Baghdad Operations, Major General Ahmed Salim Bahjat, chaired an expanded conference of team leaders, directors of directorates and intelligence services operating in Baghdad Governorate, to discuss the plan to secure protection for the tripartite summit of leaders (Iraq). , Egypt, and Jordan) to be held in the capital, Baghdad, at the end of this month.
The statement added, "During the conference, the mechanism for implementing the plan set to secure protection for peaceful demonstrations in the center of Baghdad was discussed, as the leader emphasized working with inspection collars and filters for people and bags, as well as carefully inspecting wheels, especially carrying ones, with the inclusion of military-style wheels and other government wheels."
