BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, of the Kurdistan Alliance, Muhsin al-Sadoun said that the leading figure of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan PUK, Fuad Masum is the candidate for the Kurdistan blocs for the post of President of the Republic.
Sadoun told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / today that "a meeting was held, late last night, in Baghdad was attended by a number of Kurdish leaders to choose the candidate for the presidency between the leaders of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Fuad Masum and Barham Salih, where they chose Masum.
He added: "Masum got 30 votes, while his rival, Barham Salih got 23 votes," noting: "The Kurdish blocs will present him to the Presidency of the Council of Representatives on Thursday morning.
