Today, Tuesday (October 17, 2023), the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, met with a number of investors in the region, while confirming that effective steps were being taken to develop investment.
Barzani indicated in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “the ninth ministerial formation, since it assumed its duties, has attached the utmost and great importance to the investment process, and has made great efforts to strengthen it. It has also worked to provide all necessary facilities to local and external investors, and to overcome the difficulties and obstacles that face it.” Investment path in the region.
He stressed, "We are taking effective steps to develop investment, but we aim to achieve more in this regard," expressing his thanks to investors and the private sector in the Kurdistan region for the assistance, fruitful cooperation and constructive coordination they have provided with the government, especially in implementing joint projects aimed at promoting development. economic development, establishing a solid infrastructure for the region, and providing more job opportunities.”
The Prime Minister of the Regional Government highlighted “the reforms initiated by the Regional Government in the field of activating the banking system and digitizing the public services provided, especially financial services,” according to the statement.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister responded to "the comments and proposals made by the attendees, in a way that contributes to supporting and enhancing the investment process in the Kurdistan region."
Earlier on Tuesday, an official source revealed to "Baghdad Today" the "paragraphs of the meeting that will include conveying complaints and criticisms of Kurdish businessmen and investors to government agencies in Kurdistan."
According to the source, "All the ideas and proposals of the meeting will be submitted to the Supreme Council for Investment in the region to discuss them and recommend the appropriate implementation of them."
