    Information/Baghdad..
Today, Saturday, the National Investment Commission pointed out a set of challenges facing the way to strengthen the Iraqi investment sector, while confirming that the reality of projects in the governorates is on a positive rise, while confirming its endeavor to develop the level of vital and strategic projects.
The spokesman for the Investment Authority, Muthanna Al-Ghanmi, said in an interview followed by the “Al-Ma’louma” Agency, “One of the most important goals of the federal government and the National Investment Authority is to enhance and develop the levels of the national economy at the levels of all sectors, present the most important investment opportunities, and open new horizons for investors, businessmen and companies.” Foreign and local.
Al-Ghanimi added, “The path to strengthening the Iraqi investment sector is not without some challenges facing investment work in general, including the lack of land allocation, the lack of accurate surveys by some ministries and sectoral agencies regarding the lands belonging to them, and the delay in sectoral agencies responding to the National Authority’s overtures.” Regarding obtaining the necessary approvals for the investment project, despite the amendment of Investment Law No. (13) of 2006 obligating all government agencies after the issuance of the investment license to cooperate with the Authority to fulfill the requirements for directing the investment project within a period of (30) days from the date of issuance of the license, in addition to the lack of water quotas. for agricultural projects, weak financing of private banks, and other reasons.”
He pointed out that "the National Authority is striving to strengthen the investment sector through openness to foreign companies and investors to develop the level of vital and strategic projects that are a priority within the labor market classifications and the country's actual need."
He stressed that "the National Authority is working carefully and seriously to present its projects and investment opportunities within the activities of the Baghdad Investment Forum, the launch and effectiveness of which will be sponsored by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and which is scheduled to be held at the end of this year. The projects at the Authority will include strategic ones, as stipulated in the law, and will be distributed among residential... Commercial, economic, transportation, energy, industrial, and others, which are promising projects and represent a successful business and economic environment for companies and serious investors, especially in light of stable political and security conditions in Iraq, with direct government support to strengthen the investment sector, bridge its relations with the economies of the countries of the region and the world, and determine its priority indicators in order to achieve progress. and sustainable development.”
He pointed out that "one of the most important requirements for the success of investment in any country is the provision of land with a stable economic environment, and most of Iraq's governorates are characterized by these indicators with the diagnosis of some challenges, but the reality of projects in the governorates is on the positive rise within the contexts of national investment, and investment projects are distributed in the governorates." Between health, industrial, agricultural, entertainment, residential and commercial projects, this indicates the availability of the elements and foundations for a broader move towards investment and strengthening governorate budgets to cover other needs of projects in the governorates.”
Al-Ghanimi continued, “Investment in the governorates is characterized by each governorate gaining a specific identity, including agricultural, industrial, and other identities.” Ended/25
